3.5" in diameter with five separate compartments

for the separation, imaging and transport of core needle specimens

Product Features & Benefits

CoreTainer® is a one-step system for separating, imaging and transporting core needle biopsy samples. By reducing the handling of the cores, the integrity of the samples remains intact and aids the pathologist during analysis.

  • Water-tight lid allows for safe and easy transport of the specimens
  • Special absorbent liner keeps the specimens moist while helping to attenuate the x-ray beam
  • The radiolucent numbers show up clearly on the radiograph and increase communication with pathology
  • An area for patient information is provided to help avoid misidentification of the samples
Instructions for Use

  1. Fill out the patient information section or adhere label with patient information to this section.
  2. While firmly holding the product base, remove the lid by turning it counter-clockwise.
  3. Saturate the liner using saline and drain the excess once the liner is saturated.
  4. Place the cores in the individual compartments to your facilities' preference (some facilities like to use the center compartment to identify the core taken on the first pass) and doubling up in individual compartments if removing more than five specimens.
  5. Image the cores (with or without magnification).
  6. Add Formalin if desired.
  7. Apply the lid by placing it on top and turning clockwise until tightly fastened.

5.65" radiolucent grid inside a sealable surgical bag

for the safe imaging, transport and processing of surgical breast specimens

expanded grid size for use with larger specimens

Product Features & Benefits

AccuGrid® is a system for imaging, transporting, and processing surgical breast specimens. The special coating on the grid assures that the specimen will maintain the same orientation, even during transport to pathology.

  • AccuGrid® is a sealed system, helping to protect the staff from exposure to blood borne pathogens

  • Contains a section for patient information that eliminates the risk of the patient information becoming separated from the specimen
  • The low profile design of AccuGrid® takes up minimal storage space
  • Two-sets of coordinates on each grid allow coordinates to be seen on magnification views
Instructions for Use

  1. In surgery fill out the patient information section on the bag or insert paperwork into the slot provided on the back.
  2. While holding the top of the bag open, place the specimen into the bag so that it is on top of the grid.
  3. Remove the adhesive liner on the back of the bag to expose the adhesive and fold the flap back to seal the bag.
  4. Transport the specimen to radiology for imaging.
  5. Once in radiology, place AccuGrid® on the mammography unit to prepare for imaging.
  6. Center the specimen on the grid by manipulating it through the bag.
  7. Using the mammography unit lightly apply compression to the specimen. (this will allow the special coating on the grid to maintain orientation during transport)
  8. Image the specimen.
  9. Transport the specimen and appropriate radiographs to pathology for analysis.
  10. Once in the biohazard-safe environment, the pathologist can put a needle into the exact area of concern in the specimen.

  • By accurately communicating margin orientation, the result can be improved breast conservation and a reduction in the need for a second procedure
  • Simple to use, easy to interpret, MarginMap provides reassurance that the orientation of the margins is correct the first time and every time
  • Standardizes the various methods for communicating the orientation of margins, making interpretation much easier on all involved and reducing the chance for error
